R 3100 - PPPNS

Located on the western side of the Big Five Pilanesberg National Park in the North West Province of South Africa, Black Rhino Game Reserve is malaria free. The lodge offers a wonderful vacation in the bushveld. If you’re craving a bushveld escape (but don’t want to give up on luxury), Black Rhino Game Lodge brings you the best of grassy plains with tumbling mountains and luxurious self-contained bedrooms. Located in the malaria-free western part of Pilanesberg National Park, just 33 km from Sun City, the Black Rhino Sanctuary is built amid the Tamboti Forest, overlooking an overflowing body of water, which is a hive of birds and animals, as well as a playground for elephants. The Black Rhino Game Lodge is a hidden gem hidden among the trees of the ancient Tamboti Forest at the foot of an ancient volcanic crater that now includes one of South Africa’s top 5 ecotourism destinations, the great Pilanesberg National Park.

This national park covers an area of 55,000 hectares and borders the popular entertainment center Sun City. Pilanesberg National Park also offers a number of great picnic spots, numerous game-watching hideouts, aviary walks, safaris and hot air balloon rides over the park. Go on a guided safari, walk through an aviary, or even take a hot air balloon ride over the reserve to truly see the special game.

The guides and rangers of the reserve are highly experienced and willing to share their thoughts and knowledge with visitors who want to learn more about the beautiful flora and fauna of Africa. One of the main advantages of Malaria Free is that it is free from malaria, which is not the case with other playgrounds further north.

A wide variety of game species are known to live in this habitat type, and it is very common to see elephants, black and white rhinos, buffalo, lions, and leopards. The luxury suites are very private and come with a minibar, air conditioning and a hot drinks counter. Each comfortable suite has air conditioning, a TV, tea and coffee making facilities, a minibar and a private patio overlooking the bushes.

Since the lodge is small, the safari car can accommodate a maximum of 6 guests, but on most days there were only 4 of us, and twice there were only 2 of us. On the second day, we had four new people on our safari and they were all Afrikaners and our hunter too. I was in another hunting lodge a month ago and the ranger was an Afrikaner and there were Afrikaners there, but every time they asked a question in Afrikaans he answered in English and apologized, I have to speak English to everyone. Safaris are offered twice a day, once in the early morning and again at sunset in the late afternoon, and depending on what time of year you visit, each experience can be unique.

Black Rhino near Pilanesberg offers eighteen spacious suites. Our well-appointed accommodation is suitable for families or a quiet romantic getaway. The waterhole in front of the lodge teems with activity and is a popular drinking stop for the elephants while the birdlife is prolific.

Each comfortable air-conditioned suite offers a television, tea/coffee making facilities, mini bar and private patio that opens out into the bush. Each suite has an open plan bathroom with a closed toilet. There is a separate bath and shower as well as an outdoor shower (except in room 10).

Likewise, the Greater Kruger National Park offers luxurious safari conditions in the northern region; safari lodges in private reserves adjacent to the reserve offer foreign tourists the choice of exclusive accommodation in a malaria-free zone.

Pilanesberg National Park offers several accommodation options, from resorts, safari tents and cottages to chalets and self-catering. Some of the activities available in the park include self-guided safaris, wildlife safaris, and bird watching. Thanks to Operation Genesis in 1979, which fenced off game in Pilanesberg National Park and reintroduced many long-extinct species, the park now has over 7,000 animals, including 24 of the largest species. The density of rare species in Pilanesberg, its impressive beauty and proximity to Sun City and Johannesburg, and its lack of malaria make it a very attractive safari destination.

Set in a collapsed volcanic crater, Madikwe maintains a density of game similar to the Kruger and is considered one of the best places in all of South Africa for close encounters with white rhinos and elephants. Now established as the premier malaria-free safari destination in South Africa, the 750 km2 Madikwe Game Reserve borders the neighboring Botswana border about four hours northwest of Gauteng.
